Nelson Elliot Wallace was born on 10 September 1910 in New Cumnock, Ayrshire, Scotland. His father was a teacher. He was a student at the University of Glasgow , Scotland, from 1928-1932 . He obtained first class certificates in Ordinary Mathematics and Ordinary Natural Philosophy in 1928-1929; in Senior Organic Chemistry in 1929-1930; and in Advanced Inorganic Chemistry and Physical Chemistry in 1930-1931. These are Economic History lecture notes, possibly a lecturer's own notes. There are 6 notebooks within a slipcase. On the slipcase is written in pencil "Dr James Cunnison? Alec Macfie?" The identification of the author of these notes is not certain. There is one letter within volume 6 addressed to Dr Cunnison, but without a comparison of handwriting it has not possible to assign these notes to Dr Cunnison. References within the notes would indicate that they were written after 1924. ...
